I have recently heard about the new “woke” churches and the thoughts about Christian love. The thing that I have seen every single time is the hate that people bring up about this love. I’ve seen the judgement from fellow Christians, almost acting as if they’re better than thou or have a higher place in the world. I’m going to share my thoughts about all of this and may end up loosing some Facebook friends, but the Lord has been tugging on my heart to write about this.
I first wanna go over the new lovee that people have introduced into the church. It’s gay love. I myself am not gay, but have had some friends that were and were also Christians. Did I hate them for this? No! Did I disagree with it? Yes, but I never treated them or looked at them any different. That is the great thing about God’s love. He loves all of us and has commanded us to do the same. Sure, gay love doesn’t necessarily line up with the Bible’s version of love, but it doesn’t mean we can hate or put down other people over it. I am simply here to plant the seed. The seed is the truth of God’s love and His holy word. In other words, I am simply a messenger on this earth here to do His Will! I am not the one to judge or to say what is perfect in God’s eyes. No, no, no, but I am here to help spread the message and unite with fellow believers.
I have seen more Christians be judge mental about other peoples lives now than I ever have. Just because we know where we are going, doesn’t mean we have the right the right to sit on a high throne. I have seen people who were homeless work their way up to becoming an owner of a huge company or people living in bad situations become famous stars. We cannot know what someone’s fate is. We can’t know, but do you know who can? God. He is the King of Kings and the planner of futures.
As I say all this, I want to say that I am actually happy they are inviting the gay community into churches. Although I do not agree with all the teachings, I am happy that they are inviting the imperfect in, in other words sinners. I’m a sinner and I know that you’re a sinner too. We all have sinned, so why can’t we invite fellow sinners to come learn His word with us? I am happy that these people finally feel like they are welcome at church. The only thing that I hope for them, is that they’re hearing the truth, not something sugar-coated. In other words, false prophets telling lies and dooming them to Hell.
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Matthew 7:1-2
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
James 4:11-12
“Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?”
Romans 2:1-3
“You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things?”
Romans 14:1-4
“Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. For instance, one person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.”
Just as the Scriptures have commanded, we must not judge those who are wrongdoers, because we are also wrongdoers. We all were simply put on this earth to help spread His Word, not judge those that come against it. While we may look at our sins as little or less than other sins, then that also means that we are judging ourselves. So, as you read this today, please remember not to judge and to love one another as your Father has commanded you.
