I thought that I’d write something new, so I decided to write about a prayer I can say before I back into the box…
Roper prayer
Thank you Lord for this day,
And letting me make it safely on my way.
Thank you Lord for this mighty steed,
For he has deterred me away from greed.
Thank you Lord for my partners and friends,
Who will be with me long after my trail ends.
Thank you Lord for the great cattle,
For I have already won half the battle.
Thank you Lord for allowing me to throw my rope,
For this has given me a new hope.
I am in a great debt to You,
Even though You have already paid my due.
I have been blessed with a wonderful life,
But I ask You still to lead me from strife.
Thank you Lord for allowing me my turn,
Using the hard money that I earn.
As I come to you this day,
I again bow my head and pray.
Please keep this roper guarded,
And help me to be open hearted.
Thank You Lord for everything I have,
Even in the shape of a calf.
In the good Lord’s name I pray,
While thanking Jesus all the way,
Amen.
